Tab Snoozer privacy policy
Last updated: 16 June 2026
Tab Snoozer is a Chrome extension that snoozes browser tabs until a time you choose. This policy explains what it does and does not do with your data.
What we collect
Nothing leaves your device. Tab Snoozer does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services.
What is stored, and where
To do its job, Tab Snoozer stores the following locally on your
computer using the browser's own storage
(chrome.storage.local):
- The tabs you have snoozed: their URL, title, icon, chosen wake time, and mode (notify or reopen).
- A dated history of snooze and wake events.
- Your settings (re-notify interval, reopen-focus preference).
This data never leaves your browser. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. If you uninstall the extension, the browser removes this data.
Data handling
The page URLs and titles of the tabs you snooze, and the dated record of when they were snoozed and woke, are a form of web history. Tab Snoozer reads this only for the tab you are on, only when you click its toolbar icon, and stores it locally on your device. It is never transmitted off your device, never sold or transferred to third parties, and never used for any purpose other than snoozing and reopening your tabs. It is not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending. Tab Snoozer reads tab URLs and titles only. It does not read the content of any web page.
Permissions
- activeTab: read the current tab's URL, title, and icon, only when you click the Tab Snoozer toolbar icon, so the tab can be reopened later.
- alarms: schedule each tab's wake-up and re-notify reminders.
- notifications: show a desktop notification when a snoozed tab is due.
- storage: save your snoozes, history, and settings locally (see above).
